Repair Welding

The Repair Welding courses at STRATA have been developed to provide a range of learning packages suited to the needs of industry.

The courses are aimed at industry personnel who have a background of experience in the workplace to draw on, and who now seek more advanced skills and knowledge.

The training offered is flexible, focusing on the specific requirements and needs of your company or business.

Repair Welding courses can be delivered over two full days or combined so that modules one, two and three are taught in sequence over a short period. Training courses are available for all welding processes and specific courses can be developed to suit your needs.

Repair Welding Courses

REPAIR WELDING ONE
This course encompasses a philosophy of team work and excellence in welding. The course covers weldability of metals, metallurgy and the investigative skills required by maintenance staff.

REPAIR WELDING TWO
This advanced course offers a variety of challenges at a higher level than Repair Welding One, and includes in-depth metallurgy, welding procedures and sound repair practice.

Tradespeople attending both these programs learn to be skilled in the techniques and procedures required for successfully completing difficult repairs.

Prerequisite: Repair Welding One

REPAIR WELDING THREE
This course is specifically designed around the customer's needs. Rather than teach a broad based range of skills and knowledge, Repair Welding Three will target problem areas in your workplace and teach only what is required. Working in conjunction with Plant Engineers and Management, a program can be put together to suit the specific needs of your company.

Specialised Training

STRATA is able to offer specialised short courses in repair welding training for your company. Please discuss your requirements with the program leader.

• GMAW of Carbon Steel, Aluminium, Stainless Steel and Hardfacing
• GTAW of Carbon and Stainless Steels

All levels are catered for and certification of welders is available to the following standards:

• ZS4711
• NZS4703
• BSEN287/1
• AS1665

Welding procedures can be written and qualified for specific workplace requirements.
